I am working on a course cannot get a global navigation exit button that is inherited on each page to function when published. This would allow someone to close the course/title in the middle of their session if they needed to do so.

The assigned action to the button is: OnMClkExitClose

I have deleted and we have recreated it just to make sure it is correct, with no luck.

I am currently using Publisher 18 for this title

We are having the same issue with a different title that was edited in Desktop 21.

Is this a known issue and is there a solution?

Thank you,

Eva

    Do you publish to HTML?

The "Exit title / Close window" action is specifically made to close a course window that has been opened by an LMS. Normally the browsers prevent their windows from being closed by a webpage for security reasons. In the LMS it's a window opened by a page that is also under your control and closing this window does not exit the application.

So it's more a browser thing, nothing Lectora could do. It has always been like this.

@timk thank you for your response!

I hope I answer this correctly. Fairly new user, with little to no technical background.

I publish to AICC to the LMS.

We have not always had this issue. I have older courses that this function works.

Does any of this information help?

    @EvaCostigan

Can you share a screenshot of the publish dialog, the HTML Options tab so we can see how you are publishing?

A common debugging test is to publish a course to SCORM Cloud (which you can get a free account on) and see if the button works there.

    What LMS do you use?

I found the issue was because we went between Lectora 18 and 21 in the creation of the training.

I restarted the training in 21 and now the functions work as they should.

Lesson learned, I knew it could create issues going between versions and found out the hard way.

It could be that the following publish setting isn't set:
