Hello does anyone use the go pro max to shoot the 360 videos you import into cenario? Does anyone have tips for making the videos less grainy when they are imported into cenario?

We shot some MAX videos, and they aren't especially grainy. The most obvious thing is to check the settings on the camera before you record and be sure you're using the highest resolution.

HOWEVER! If you use high-res 360 video, and you aren't using one of the CVR apps (e. g. for Oculus headsets), and you aren't using a high-powered very fast device, you're going to get very ... very ... slow ... response. In particular, trying to use it on an iPhone XR was really, really painful, even with the app. ELB's CTO told me that Apple's support for VR is surprisingly bad (here in this very forum). Before you do a lot of shooting, do some tests on your target platform to be sure that high-res immersive video is actually functional.

Thanks for the feedback! Do you have any tips on the exact settings on the max?

Honestly, not really. I haven't taken any new footage for over a year. We ended up using stills for most of our work.

@swoolwine There are some great tips here:

    https://cenariovr.com/blog-posts/using-your-camera-with-cenariovr.html

Basically, you want to shoot all video in 5.7K, however, the H.264 video format supports 4K for max resolution, so when you export, you will get 4K, which should be fine.

Lighting is key for good video, and several tips for recording are available here:

Finally, compression is key, as the video that comes off the cameras is usually very high bandwidth, and compression is discussed here:
