Variable change for Closed-captioning video

I have a couple of videos in one of my programs with Closed Captioning. In order for it to show, a mime type was added as noted in the manual. Our folks also said they had to change two variables on the videos:

var   bFillWindow = t to =f

var   bFitWidth = t to =f

Can I make this change in my program, so they don't have to modify my file?
