Problem with selecting slides in Snap

I'm having trouble selecting slides in Snap. When I click on 'Preview' in the Snap ribbon, I get a dialogue box that says 'Please select a slide', but a slide is already selected in the Powerpoint slide sorter. Same happens if I click 'Preview range of slides'. Sometimes this problem occurs, other times it does not. Can anyone offer advice please?
