Linking to a PDF as a web address

Hello,

I used to be able to drop a PDF onto a blank page and access it as a link to a web address with the title of the PDF as the web address.

This seems to no longer be working. I am using Lectora Enterprise Edition vX.4 (7609), publishing to remote-hosted SumTotal.

Thoughts?

Stephen

If you go to the top of the Title Explorer and and select your title name, then click the Additional files tab, is your PDF listed there? If not add it. You should then be able to link directly to the pdf like a web address. Although the action Launch a program/document might be easier.

Yes, the title is in the Additional Files tab.

I am attempting to use the Launch a program/document action, but can I get this to pop-up in a new window? I'm not sure how to keep the learner in the module. The PDF opens fine, but the only option I see is to X out of the window, which does not allow the module to complete.

I see there seem to be issues with that action (especially in Chrome). I may have to go back to the open web address action for my own modules. Not sure why that would not work for you though. As long as the files is listed as an additional file, you can just enter it with no directory address. Are you adding the file extension?
