Animated Gif buttons no longer working in Lectora 11?

Hello. I'm running Lectora 11.2, and I've noticed that when making custom buttons, animated gifs no longer animate. They are simply stuck on the first frame.

If I import them as an animation, they will play. So presumably I could replicate the same functionality by adding actions to each gif - but this would be a pain to do for every button over all my courses. (I have static buttons that animate on rollover).

Oddly enough, they work just fine if I import them from a Lectora 10 course. (Although in Lectora 11's properties window, it states that the rollover graphic is 'none', despite the fact it still switches the rollover graphic to an animated one).

Is this still the case for 11.3? It's a very big pain to get anything updated at my workplace, and I don't want to do it without confirming the issue is fixed.

Bump. Anyone else running into this issue? I have not been able to test on anything above 11.2a + as our IT Department has strong configuration management controls.

It's still the case with 11.3, and I'm not sure whether this is by design or simply an oversight.

Having said that, I challenge you to find a modern website that does button animation on rollover, let alone implemented with a GIF. I have a strong feeling that the added value of such animations is really low as compared to the effort required to implement it.

You could use CSS to add a class and a :hover selector to all your buttons at once to e.g. fade in/out, shift, resize or otherwise indicate hovered state. You would then only need to create static buttons in Lectora and the browser would take care of the rest.

Just my two cents, and I'm sure you have good reasons for doing what you're doing.

What I've done in a couple instances where a mouse-over a button needed an animated button was to place the animated image 'behind' the button, then, the Over-State of the button set as a transparent image. Button appears to animate on mouse-over. Simple animated rollover workaround.
