I just started using Lectoria Publisher.

Question: Mp3 Audio Sync Events

I just built a course the has 42 mp3 Voice-over audios in MP3 format

I resampled the filed to make them smaller. However, the client wants to use the original mp3 files.

All 42 files have sync events. Where are these time events stored?

in the mp3 files?

If so, how can I export (or fine or whatever) the Sync time events to the original mp3 files. (Same file length as I just down sampled copies)

or do I have to spend 2 days re-entering all the time cues?

Hate to say it but syncing audio in Lectoria sucks and time consuming compared to other software that use timelines.

Reposted edit: several days later

Well it seem the marker tags are stored in the MP3 file as a custom TXXX tag.

After installing 20 MP3 editors I finally found one call KID3

http://kid3.sourceforge.net/

At least I can now edit/copy events tags then place then into the FRENCH language MP3s files.

However, the stupid markers (as you now) do not slide for real-time placement adjustments in Lectora's editor

THIS REALLY SUCKS !!!!!

The Blackberry of audio timelining. Keep up with the jones's before its to late.

I was inform that the next version will not have any improved audio or timeline control.

As far as I know, sync events are stored in the file and are not exportable. Sorry.

Best course of action always it to try a couple and get approval. Then do the rest.

In Lectora 11.3.2, audio events are stored in the project file (.awt). So you should be able to simply replace the mp3s in the /media/ folder and your events will continue working.

Besides being the most volatile and stupid place to put marker positions in a TXXX tag of an MP3 file:

Can you please tell me how to replace the English voice file with a French voice file and keep the markers?

Events with no marker gives you what?

I have to currently open the file in Adobe Audition

    1. hightlight the entire wave then paste the french in.

    2. Save it using: 'Save extra non-audio information'

    3. Open the stupid Lectora Audio Editor

    4. Type (that's right, type) to repossition the markers

    5. close the editor then select the audio controller, try to find the sync button on the Ribbon bar.

    6. etc, etc, etc.

The first step should be to simply replace English mp3s with French mp3s and then it's pretty much re-syncing everything all over. Lectora is definitely not the tool for narration-slide syncing but I do hope they update the Audio Editor at some point.
