Numbered and lettered lists

I am trying to put an outline in Lectora but it is acting goofy. It's a basic outline where the major list is numbers, then some have indented letter lists. But if I change a couple lines to letters, then the numbered lines also become numbers, and vice versa. Has anyone figured how to do this without messing up all the text?

You have to indent each level and then apply a different numbering. Use the indent icons on the Home ribbon.
