Developing an iPhone app

I have developed an app for the iPhone using Lectora and published to HTML. I was hoping to use Phone Gap to convert the code into an 'actual' app for use on the iPhone OS. When I upload the zipped HTML file to PhoneGap I get an error for the iOS version and also a 'signing key' is required. Does anyone know the best course of action from here. I have opened a iOS Developer account but still can't work out where to find a 'signing key'. So many Apple hoops! Thanks
