Million Dollar Quiz: How to recognize if a learner did it and failed?

When I use the million dollar quiz I can use an action to check the success of the course based on the "score" or "percentage" variables. So, only if percentage is "100" the learner completed the quiz perfectly. That's not difficult.
BUT: how can I find out that a learner completed the quiz without success, especially if he got no point at all? The "score" and "percentage" variables don't seem to change in that case and no other available variable as well. So if I want to display a message in case the learner failed, how can I find this out?
If I just check on "percentage = 0" to display the message, it will be shown even before I started the quiz.
Any idea?
