Too many answers displayed in customized test results

I cant find the answers to this anywhere after much searching so apologies if this is a duplicate. I am trying to use customized test results for the first time on one of my courses but when the answers are displayed for multiple choice questions it seems to display the results for the question once for each choice. i.e if there were four choices it displays the question and answer four times - once for each choice. I cannot owrk out how to edit this - does anyone know of a way?
