Click to reveal and also hide multiple objects

Working on a job aid (one pager) for an application that has a screen with over 60 fields present. Each field requires a text box to explain the purpose and also a surround box to highlight the field. Mouseovers can be easily done to show/hide the objects, however, this method is very distracting due to the movement within some of the geography. Click to reveal is more acceptable where one field descript is shown and all others are hidden.
In short, we are looking for the quickest way to do click to show/hide multiple objects. Have been working with Actions/Variables but have not come up with a solution. Any assistance here will surely be appreciated.
