Anyone having problems retaining variables in Internet Explorer v8?

I have an HTML version of a training package that we've worked on over the spanse of several months. When we began this project, everything was testing well in Internet Explorer 7. Now that v8 has been installed, it doesn't seem to be applying the variables. I found the cookie containing the variables, so I know it's there, but functionality based on the variables isn't working. I've ensured that cookies are enabled...I've even gone so far as to set the computer security level to low, but stil to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?
