SCORM 1.2 course not being marked 'completed' on SAP LSO

i have a course that has 1 SCO and 1 assessment. i am setting the cmi.core.lesson_status as 'completed' in both the SCO and the assessment. yet, SAP LSO does not show that the course as completed.
