I have to agree with most of the subsequent comments to my inital post.  The forum is blatently handicapped.

I enjoyed the extensive profile setup, new look and feel, etc.  But under the hood, the forum is missing a few key elements. 

Could we ressurect the old forum until we are done beta testing this new one?  I find a number of features such as the lack of email notifications more than disconcerting...
