Hiding Inherited Button

I build courses in our company template, which has all of the navigation buttons inherited for all of the chapters and pages. I'd like to build pages that require the user to click an advance button to build text on the page. I would like to hide the Next button until all of the text has appeared. How can I do this? Do I need to start by disinheriting the Next button on the page? Thank you!!!
