Pausing a .swf File

OK, a client wants me to add a pause function (that pauses an auto playing .swf file with embedded audio) to a CBT. I can make a button that plays the .swf and a button stops the .swf, but I want a button to pause the .swf so it doesn't start back at the beginning. I know I can build this inside the flash, but those files are done so I'd rather add a button in Lectora rather than adding buttons inside 40 fla files. Anyone know this? It seems easy, but I just can't see it.Thanks in advance!
