Accessing Lectora variables from JavaScri

Let's say I declare a variable in Chapter 1 named Module1 which I set to a value of 1. Then at the end of the course if I try to access Module1 using JavaScript in an external HTML object like this:function reportStatus()var1=Module1.getValue();alert(var1);I get nothing. Am I accessing the Module1 variable incorrectly? Also how would I address a text box named text1 to display var1 inside it? Thanks.
